Say it in Filipino

Created in Buwan ng Wika or Filipino Language Month, Letragram is a graphic compendium of Filipino letters, words and phrases on Instagram. The project uses iconography to create simple visuals that incorporate letters of the alphabet with the words they represent.

W is for watawat: a piece of cloth on a pole or rope, used as a symbol of a country or institution.

B is for buko: the large oval seed of a tropical palm tree.

A is for apa: a cone-shaped wafer container in which ice cream is served.

K is for kislap: a glittering flash of light.

U is for ulap: a visible mass of condensed vapor suspended in the atmosphere.
