aDA 2015 Jury

This Month, I take part in the Adobo Design Awards as a member of the jury. Headed by Graphic Arts Medal awardee Lucille Tenazas, the panel of industry notables will be tasked to screen works by some of the brightest creative talents from the Philippines and the world.

On its 2015 installment, Adobo Design Awards progresses with the theme "Design for the Future" in typography, packaging, press and poster, photography, brand identity, illustration, publishing, outdoor, spatial, product, video, digital and wearable design. Judging takes place mid-March, with the awards ceremony to be held on Friday the 27th.

I look forward to seeing the works and wish the best of luck to all participating designers.

It feels like coming full circle, to receive recognition in my hometown for a project undertaken in my new home city. "Façades", which was inspired by, developed and released in Barcelona back in November, earned a silver for best design in illustration at the Adobo Design Awards, held in Manila on March 28.

The awards show counts five gold, 14 silver and 42 bronze winners across 14 categories, and boasts a jury headed by Lucille Lozada Tenazas, Associate Dean at Parsons' School of Art, Media and Technology. Other wins in the illustration category include silver awards for TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno's "Pad Paper" and "Tree Lungs", another silver for Daryl Feril's "Passage to Paradise", as well as bronze awards for Alyssa J. De Asis' "Festival of Colors" and Campaigns and Grey's "Rubber Cut".

I can't be happier to have a favorite project also turn out to be a well-received one. Many thanks to everyone who made this possible and congratulations to all the winners!

It had been too long that I was without cards but at last, I rejoin the world of grownups with a new stack of my own. What this entails? That I've been more social than usual lately. This also means that yet again, I've evolved faster than my work has and will now need to redesign the site.

Indeed, change is the only constant!
